A Fresh Start For A Healthy Finish

SAY NO TO TOXINS CHOSE THE BEST ORGANIC DEODORANT MONEY CAN BUY

Our Story – We launched our family recipe deodorant product out of necessity and concern for our teenage children’s health. After extensive research and desperation for a real organic deodorant at an affordable price, we realized that most brands failed to live up to their claims or were outrageously expensive. Determined to come up with a solution, we decided to make our own deodorant at home, packing it in small glass jars at first.

However, the glass jars just weren’t very convenient, especially when we traveled. The jars were messy and cumbersome, we needed a container that was compactable and convenient. This motivated us to refine the packaging process of our formula into plastic tubes instead. The new solution minimized waste, made applying our amazing home recipe a hassle-free task; after all it eliminated the need to dip our fingers into pesky glass jars each time.

What began as making a few sticks every couple of months shared with family and friends quickly grew into something bigger. Everyone loved our homemade alluring, healthy, and effective deodorant so much they would offer to pay us for more. Requests started rolling in tall orders; we knew we had created something special. At that point, our organic NATURAL DEODORANT brand was born!

Mission Statement

We will make the perfect deodorant for your family; at a price you can afford.  All of our products should be free of any potential irritants, chemicals, or artificial ingredients.  Our deodorant should be organic, made with the safest food-grade ingredients.  Made for most people with sensitive skin and suitable for most teens and adults.

Challenging the Stink of the Deodorant Market

At NATURAL DEODORANT, we pride ourselves on being an all-organic deodorant brand.  We are committed to living up to our family business name.

We will let our quality drive our success; not lavish “ad campaigns” funded by some massive enterprise and/or wealthy investors. We are a small, independent, family-owned deodorant company, not a subsidiary of some multinational giant detergent company producing cookie-cutter deodorant.

It doesn’t take long to realize how most deodorant brands who claim to be “natural” are either created by a massive enterprise, or acquired by a massive enterprises known for using harmful cancerous chemicals in their products.  In fact, these massive enterprises are so greedy, they use these newly acquired brands to push the same harmful ingredients that don’t sell under their original brands.

Our Selling Point – Literally!

Our business model does not support the “Online Marketplace.” Our family chose this approach to protect our brand and save on operational costs. Online Marketplaces like Amazon and eBay add excessive fees which we would be forced to pass on to our customers; something we try to avoid at all costs.

We are big enough to share, and small enough to care…most of those allegedly “natural” brands are offshoots and subsidiaries of major global brands that monopolize the health/ personal-hygiene market worldwide. This is exceptionally important because giant enterprises are all about profit, and care more about the label than what is inside the container.  They spend millions of dollars on misleading ads.

At NATURAL DEODORANT, we reject such a business model. Our focus is on creating a healthy deodorant you can trust at a price you can afford.

Why We Stands Out

Well, did you know that nearly 90% of the deodorant market in the US belongs to 3 massive companies. These companies are so big, they can get away with anything; often compromising on quality for more profit. Worse, they use harmful formulas disguised under carefully worded labels and fragrances made from ingredients devastating to the human body, then they market them to consumers as “natural”.

This is not what most of us hope to find in our deodorant, especially when the average person is already exposed to many harmful chemicals and pollutants every day through food, air, and other hygiene products.  Therefore, deodorant, which gets absorbed by our blood stream, does not need to be one of those harmful agents we put on our bodies.

This is why we founded NATURAL DEODORANT; to give you a genuinely safe, effective, and clean whole-body freshness, a healthy alternative you can trust.

What Does Artificial Intelligence Think About These Online Marketplaces

“Large companies can often "kill" small businesses by dominating market share, driving down prices. Saturating the market with extensive misleading ad campaigns making it difficult for smaller companies to compete. Through aggressive pricing strategies, access to capital and economies of scale, large companies can essentially force small businesses out of the market. This is a concern frequently raised regarding giant marketplaces, which can significantly impact small businesses and retailers in certain sectors.” A.I.

Stick To Our Organic Sticks

Well… have you seen what’s in most deodorant brands out there?  Likely you’ve glanced at the back of the container at least once in your life and seen a long list of ingredients only a chemist can decode. Most deodorant brands out there contain an array of chemicals, but did you know that many of these chemicals can be incredibly harmful for your body; some of which can even cause cancer.  Let’s go through some of the ingredients used in most deodorant products in the market today:

Aluminum. This is the ingredient that clogs your sweat glands and prevents sweating (more on this below). Aluminum exposure has been linked to Alzheimer’s and the build-up of estrogen in the body, which can also be correlated with increased chances of breast and prostate cancer.

Parabens.  It is used to prevent mold, bacteria, and yeast from forming on the deodorant, but some experts claim parabens are harmful.  For example, these ingredients are used as a preservative in deodorants but can also mimic estrogen in your body. This leads to hormonal disruptions and is also linked to breast and prostate cancer.

Phthalates. These chemicals are used to make other ingredients more flexible and are also used to enhance artificial fragrance. They primarily affect the endocrine system and exposure can lead to early onset puberty as well as breast cancer later in life.

Triclosan. An antibacterial chemical that can also disrupt the hormone system and is associated with an increased chance of breast cancer. It was banned by the FDA in hand soaps but, for some reason, they still allow it in deodorants.

Propylene glycol. A petroleum-based ingredient that gives deodorant its slick consistency, but in large quantities it can damage the central nervous system, heart, and liver.  Further, this is an untested chemical with 2 alcohol compounds – do you really want that in your deodorant?

Allantoin. A diureide (or chemical compounds derived from urea) of glyoxylic acid with the chemical formula C₄H₆N₄O₃. It’s also known as 5-ureidohydantoin or glyoxyldiureide.   It can cause burning, stinging, redness, or irritation.

Fragrance. Unknown chemical compounds.  Unsafe if absorbed by bloodstream through armpits and can cause irritation on armpits or can trigger allergies.

Probiotics. Probiotics are generally safe for most people, but they can have some side effects, including digestive issues, skin reactions, muscle pain, joint pain, headaches, migraines, and/or allergic reactions.

Ozokerite.  This hydrocarbon wax is derived from mineral sources or from petroleum.  It is also known as “Earthwax.”  Ozokerite is generally considered safe and well-tolerated by the skin, but there are some potential side effects to be aware of: eye irritation, skin irritation, inhalation, and impact on organ function.  A 1984 study found that moderate doses of ozokerite can have effects on organs, but the concentrations used were higher than those found in beauty products. Other studies have shown that long-term exposure to ozokerite can cause granulomatous inflammation, or areas of tightly clustered cells, in various organs, including the liver, spleen, and intestines.  Ozokerite is non-comedogenic and doesn’t clog pores or cause acne. However, it’s a good idea to do a patch test before applying it to your skin and consult a dermatologist if you have any allergies.

Caprylic/Capric.  This is created through the removal of and isolation of fatty acids from the oil as caprylic acid. They combine these pure fatty acids with glycerin to make capric or caprylic triglyceride.  The manufacturers then use several other processes to purify the compound. The CIR suggests that the end-product typically contains impurities at about 300 parts per million free fatty acids and up to 0.2% glycerol.  Some manufacturers may label caprylic triglyceride as a natural product, which is misleading.

Triglyceride.  A type of fat, or lipid, that circulates in the blood and are the most common type of fat in the body. They are made up of glycerol and three fatty acids.  While this is not a harmful ingredient, its function may aid in carrying harmful chemicals throughout your body.

Magnesium Hydroxide. An inorganic compound with the chemical formula Mg(OH)2 that occurs in nature as the mineral brucite.  Side effects that can occur when using a product with Magnesium Hydroxide includes a wide range of allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, hives, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat).

Glucose. This is mainly used to enhance and amplify artificial scents.  It is generally safe to use in deodorant, but it can be a problem for people who are allergic to or intolerant of glucose.

Cyclodextrin.  The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommends against administering some types of cyclodextrin directly into the bloodstream.  It’s made from starch or starch derivatives through an enzymatic process that uses the bacterial enzyme cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (CGTase).  Cyclodextrins (CDs) are generally safe when used within the recommended dose range but can cause adverse effects at higher concentrations. Some side effects of cyclodextrins include hearing loss, gastrointestinal issues, skin rash, kidney toxicity. Other adverse effects of cyclodextrins include sleepiness, dizziness, restlessness, and jerky muscle movement.

Butane. A hydrocarbon commonly used as a propellant in sprayable household products. Inhalation of deodorant spray, which uses butane, can cause cardiac arrest.

Ethylhexylglycerin. This is a complex chemical compound that can cause irritation.

Octenidine HCl. This is a toxic and harmful chemical compound used for antiseptic medication.

Tetrasodium EDTA. This preservative chemical compound can make the skin protective barrier more fragile.

Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs).  In the last two decades there has been a growing awareness of the possible adverse effects in humans.  These effects can include: developmental malformations, interference with reproduction, increased cancer risk, and disturbances in the immune and nervous system function.

Sodium stearate. Sodium salt of stearic acid.  Concerns about sodium stearate include cancer, allergies and immunotoxicity, and developmental and reproductive toxicity.

Cornstarch. May cause irritation for sensitive skin and could potentially leave residue.

The list of harmful chemicals could continue, but this is just a glimpse of what is typically found in conventional deodorants on the market today.
